Wild Life
Olympic has a wide range of animals. On land you can see raccoons, deer, cougars, and bears. But offshore you can also see dolphins, whales, sea lions, seals, and sea otters. The Olympic marmot, snow mole, and torrent are specific to Olympic National Park and can only be found here.

Did You Know?
The highest peak in Olympic National Park is Mount Olympus. It is also the third largest glacial system in the United States.
Precipitation
Mount Olympus can have up to 200 inches of precipitation each year, mostly by snow.
Roosevelt Elk
Olympic National Park is the home to the largest herd of Roosevelt elk in the world. Because of this, the park was almost named "Elk National Park".
